This project for North West Regional College, involved the construction of a new stand-alone 6 Storey Teaching Block & a new 6 storey Teaching Block adjoining the existing operational Lawrence Building. A landmark feature of the development is the link bridge crosses the Strand Road, connecting both buildings at Level 3.
The stand-alone Boating Club Lane Building accomodates 16Nr Classrooms, offices, staff/student social areas, training suites & studios, practice room, recording studios, servery, kitchen, shower & WC facilities. The new Lawrence Building extension accommodates 24Nr. classrooms, offices, storage, staff, computer & IT facilities, Open Learning Centre, Meeting & Conference facilities, changing rooms, shower, WC & Kitchen facilities.
The project won a Bronze Considerate Constructors Scheme 2011 National Site Award and was also selected as a finalist in the CEF+Specify Construction Excellence Awards 2011 in the ‘Education Infrastructure’ and the ‘Achieving Excellence in Partnering’ Categories.
