Parliament Buildings

Location: Parliment Buildings, Stormont, Belfast

This project comprised re-roofing works to multi-levels of  the five (plus basement) storey existing live grade B+ listed building plus roof lights, guard railing, access ladders and stairs, stonework restoration and repairs, refurbishment of rainwater goods, new roof plant supported on new steel dais structures, external decoration and maintenance works including redecoration of windows and external masonry. Internal works included steel structured mezzanine to be inserted in an open plan fourth floor room, full office fit out, redecoration and M&E services upgrading works.

Mechanical works included: – Replacement of external roof mounted HVAC plant with packaged air handling plant; Refurbishment of boiler plant rooms; Replacement of BEMS controls; Provision of rainwater harvesting systems; Renewables installations to include solar thermal, Heat pumps and photovoltaics; Metering installations.

Electrical works included: – Alterations to existing main switchgear; New sub mains distribution cabling; General Power installations; Power and control wiring associated with new HVAC plant; Alterations to lightning protection; General, emergency and maintenance lighting; Electrical metering installations; Alterations to Fire Alarm; Alterations to CCTV installations.

Externally new car parking facilities were provided with works including services diversions and alterations, new retaining wall structure, surfacing works, fencing and railings.
