Another new warehouse completed for Henderson Foodservice

The recently completed £16 million warehouse facility has been unveiled by Henderson Foodservice as part of an ongoing re-development of Henderson Group’s Mallusk complex. Tracey Brothers are delighted to continue to build on our relationship with Henderson’s in their redevelopment programme.

We’d like to thank them for their excellent project delivery which helped us transfer to the new centre with zero disruption to customers’’

The new larger storage facility has enabled Henderson Foodservice to offer their customers an expanded product range with greater efficiencies in terms of goods in, order processing and picking, providing an overall enhanced supplier and customer experience.

The new 190,000 square foot ambient and chilled distribution centre at Hightown is split between ambient high bay racking storage & cold store chill accommodation for fresh foods. The warehouse accommodation, along with the associated office accommodation, incorporates the latest sustainability and energy efficiency techniques including maximisation of natural light in work areas, photo and movement sensitive lighting along with a state-of-the-art charging optimiser for all mechanical handling equipment and an energy optimised refrigeration system.

Passive House ‘Premium’ Award for South West College Erne Campus

The recently completed South West College Erne Campus, designed & built by Tracey Brothers Ltd., has been certified by the Passive House Institute.

The Erne Campus is the largest New Build Passive House Premium Building in the world and also the largest Passive House Premium Educational Building in the world. It is also the first building in the UK to achieve both Passive House Premium and BREEAM Outstanding accreditations.

The official plaque was presented to Tracey Brothers and the College by Tomas O’Leary of MosArt Architects on the 4th of June 2021.

South West College Erne Project – Winner of the ‘Public Projects’ Design Stage Award 2021

The public awards are for projects supporting community and societal services, such as government, health, education and justice, including closely related commercially driven projects.

The project was selected as the Design Stage Award Winner, for ‘its effort in combining sustainability with wellbeing, whilst targeting a zero carbon building’.

‘The application of passivhaus was also recognised by the judges and worthy of award’.

South West College Erne Campus shortlisted for BREEAM Awards 2021

South West College Erne Campus was recently shortlisted for the BREEAM 2021 awards for the ‘Public Sector Project: Design Stage Award’.

The public sector project awards are for projects supporting community and societal services, such as government, health, education and justice, including closely related commercially driven projects.

The BREEAM Awards, delivered by BRE, is an annual celebration that recognises the people, projects and organisations that are leading the way with significant achievements in sustainable building design, development and management.

Restoration Works Commence at the Grand Opera House

Tracey Brothers are delighted to have been appointed as Main Contractor for the Restoration Works at The Grand Opera House, Belfast; one of Northern Ireland’s most iconic buildings.

The architectural importance of the Grand Opera House has been recognised and protected through its Grade A listed building status, having been the first building in Belfast to attain Grade A listed status, and the only remaining Victorian Theatre in Northern Ireland. Its historic and opulent auditorium is regarded as amongst the architecturally most important theatre interiors in the UK and Ireland.

We are looking forward to working closely with the Grand Opera House and their design team as they embark on their most ambitious restoration and development project in 40 years, aiming to return the beautiful 1895 auditorium to its original splendour, tell the Theatre’s fascinating history and improve customer facilities.

The award of this project demonstrates the high level of skill and expertise of our team which will be used to ensure careful and high-quality refurbishment of this sensitive landmark building for Belfast.

SW College Erne Project ‘Topping Out’ Ceremony

Tracey Brothers hosted the ”topping out” ceremony at the SW College Erne Project to mark a key milestone in the construction of this state-of-the-art Campus.

The Erne Campus will be a flagship for sustainable construction with its pioneering PassivHaus premium standard and modern design and construction and is pushing the boundaries of technology in almost every aspect of construction, with technologies that are leading edge and in many instances, unique and bespoke for this project.

South West College and Tracey Brothers have collaborated to create a new learning opportunity with the focus on ‘Learning through Innovation’.

The new campus which will be the first educational building worldwide to achieve the highest international standard in environmental construction – PassivHaus Premium and BREEAM Excellent, will give it’s students the opportunity to study in a ‘living learning laboratory’.

Tracey Brothers look forward to working with SWC on the Erne Academy to provide long-term benefits to both the academic and construction communities in technology, innovation & sustainability.

We have completed the Fit-Out of the West Tower at Lanyon Place, Belfast for Oxford Street Capital Ltd.

Our works comprised shell and core works including CAT A Fit-Out to Levels 6 – 7 and CAT B Fit-Out to levels 5, 8 – 11 along with associated M&E installations.

SW College Erne Project Progressing

Works are progressing well 10 months into the Erne Project for South West College with the structural frame in place and roof complete the building envelope is well advanced and scaffold starting to come down.

Internal fit out has commenced with site services and site structures progressing.

All the while, the challenges presented by the unique “Passive House Premium” and “BREEAM Outstanding” requirements of the project have been embraced by our design and construction team and incorporated successfully into the works to date.
